It is impossible to completely explore all the beautiful surrounding of Bali’s countryside in a single day. There is much to see from Bali’s own backyard of beautiful scenery and amazing landscape and there will definitely have to be more than one single day to truly explore all the nooks and crannies of the area. That is why you should definitely consider this cross country cycling trip that will take you around both the famous and lesser-known parts of Bali countryside on a 3 days 2 nights’ trip. Along the way, make friends with other fellow cyclists as you bond over shared experience and joy.
Day 1 - Discover the Tabanan Province (45 km)
First thing in the morning, you will prepare yourself for an early transfer from your hotel to the mountainous region of Bedugul. Located at 1,400 m above sea level, the stunning view of the mountain overlooking Lake Beratan, one of Bali’s most well-known lakes, is simply breathtaking. Enjoy the view of crystalline water that just beckons you to dive right in. However, that is not part of the itinerary. So instead, prepare yourself for the trip as you can look forward to seeing more of the stunning views along the way. After giving thanks at the Water Temple of Lake Beratan, you will begin your journey from the starting point. Winding through the paths, you will make your way down toward the coast. Enjoy yourself in this mountain bike adventure that spans as long as a 45 km ride along the rough and challenging terrain of the area. Once you arrive at the coast, you will end up right at your accommodation for the night in the middle of the countryside and rice paddy fields. So save your energy for yet another exciting day tomorrow.
Day 2 - Morning ride around the Batur Crater and Afternoon ride from Mount Batur to Ubud (65 km)
Yet another early transfer is afoot. Once you are ready and board yourself into the car, you will be transferred to Mount Batur. With no further time wasted, you will begin your journey around the crater of this majestic volcano and explore the wide variety of cycling terrains offered by the crater. Along the way, do not also forget to enjoy many of the mountain’s stunning view. Ready your cameras and start snapping at the picturesque scenery before you. You will be passing Lake Batur and Mount Abang as well before continuing your journey through the lava stream, a testament to Mount Batur’s 2000 eruption. After your lunch break, you will be transferred back to the rim and cycle downhill for 35 km all the way down to Ubud. There, you will end your adventure for the day with your overnight stay in Ubud.
Day 3 - Ride from the flanks of Mount Abang to the coast (38 km)
Your last day will consist of an epic offroad mountain biking adventure. You will start off at the volcanic rim of Mount Abang. From there, you will ride your way around a bamboo forest, dry creek beds, jungle forest and rice paddies. On this last day of the biking trip, you will have all the time to go on a relaxing and fun ride around the area. So, pamper yourself to some good fun on your last day as you traverse the paths before you. You will finish your tour near the town of Tangkup at around 3 P.M. where you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Ubud. Alternatively, you can also spend the night in the South of Bali as well.
